Thomas Edison inventor of electricity and the light bulb


Thomas Alva Edison was born on February 11, 1847 in Milan. Ohio, the seventh and the last child of Samuel and Nancy Edison.

Edison had a very little education as a child, attending school for a few months. He was good at writing, reading and arithmetic, but was always a very curious child and thought himself much by reading on his own. When he grow up he red a lot of scientific and technical books, and also had the opportunity at this time how to operate a telegraph.

The first great invention developed by Thomas Edison was the telegraph and after few years ago he invented electric light, but he did not ‘’invent’’ light bulb, improved upon a 50-year-old idea. The idea of electricity was not new, many people worked on that. Edison’s eventual achievement was inventing not just an electric lighting system that contained all the element necessary to make the light safe, practical and economical. After one and a half years ago the lamp burned for thirteen and a half hour.

Moreover, the invention of electricity had a consequence for the next few years when the world started to evolve.
